The fedora wearing, bullwhip-cracking Ford is back for his fourth installment of the swashbuckling saga, along with Karen Allen, his former love interest, from 1981's Raiders of the Lost Ark. Allen returns as Marion Ravenwood, Indiana Jones distant love interest.

it seems like the recipe of a good Indiana Jones film would be 1 part Nazis and 1 part biblical artifact... the Soviet army does a pretty good job of replacing the Nazis, but the other ingredient...
My guess is Paramount Pictures want to keep this franchise alive for as long as Harrison Ford is breathing. In order to do so, they have to make some changes to keep audiences interested. As you have noticed, the changes are subtle. You pointed out a great example; the Soviets replaced the Nazis. Also, this movie has to attract a new audience; a younger audience. Harrison Ford is no spring chicken. A lot of the young folk were not born when the Indiana Jones franchise began. Also notice the inclusion of Harrison Ford's new sidekick, Shila Lebeouf, a young actor, that a newer generation will respond to. He was as popular as Harrison Ford on the red carpet last night. So they change some things around. The premise of the franchise remains the same. This response maybe more than you bargained for. Personally, I can't stand the Indiana Jones movies, but that's just me. I can see from your blog you are a movie buff, so I appreciate your knowledge in this field. Thanks for your comment.

Speaking of Karen Allen, I wrote an unsolicited script for a Starman sequel back in 1998. It was my first script and I quit college to finish it. It’s been gathering dust ever since. There's no question about it, if you haven't yet seen Indiana Jones trilogy, prepared to have the wildest thrill ride of your entire life. Watching Karen Allen and Harrison Ford together as a love- hate relationship couple has brought this movie onto a whole another level providing new actors into the mix which it is great to have Shai LeBeouf being as their son and side kick that Indy himself never knew he had one until now . I think being a much older and more wiser and likes to take charge of certain situations from Marion Ravenwood has got to a point that she is much able to handle it quite well indeed especially driving these two vehicles that no other Hollywood actresses themselves who haven't done this for a long time and I think with Karen Allen's ability she has a lot of spunk and full of energy to be able to put herself at risk like going full throttle into the water rapids and then dropped three times at least . Also there's another part of this movie that I've really enjoyed watching what both Harrison Ford and Karen Allen does and it's actually when they were starting to arguing inside the truck trying to figuring out a way to escape sort of speak and this is the only way they knew from that particular moment really . And finally running down those difficult stairs has taken a lot of physical training on Karen Allen's part cause you have to put enough power and strength as well as full confidence within herself being as Marion Ravenwood knowing she is capable to do this without using a stunt double person trying to do themselves . I think she has a lot of creative style of the way she dress as well . Her costume is so awesome indeed . If there's going to be another Indy 5 in the works though, I think Marion Ravenwood should have her own fight scene cause if she can take care of herself personally Karen Allen has a lot of spunk in spirit within I think she is able to handle anybody who can stand by her husband Indy inside a night club while her son Mutt is there helping out with his dad or her father going back to school or something come on now.How about against this very strange looking Asian woman who is infact a secret double agent from China actually a self trained martial artist where she comes from doesn't like to be treated as a villian herself but wanted to help Indy to search for another artifact, however though Marion who is watching her every moves doesn't like the way she's flirting with Indiana Jones at all and wanted to challenge her into a fight somewhere behind the night club and see if she's more capable to handle the pressure of getting into something that Marion hasn't seen before ever ! Something like this sort of will be totally awesome if these two women can get it on towards each other though !
